Reframe Your Story, Reclaim Your Life: Victims + Heroes
About the event
In this reflective storytelling workshop, we will explore the narratives that shape our lives and discover the power of reframing our stories. We will delve into the roles of ‘victim’ and ‘hero’, examining how we can become attached to these roles and how this influences our perceptions of ourselves and our experiences. Through guided exercises and reflective discussions, you will learn to identify and challenge limiting beliefs, reclaiming agency over the story of your life.
When we become too attached to the idea of ourselves as ‘victim’ or ‘hero’ we can feel disempowered or overburdened in our lives.
In this workshop, we will examine:
- How stories can help us to make sense of painful past events
- What happens when we become too attached to a story and ‘hooked’ on retelling it
- The roles we inhabit in our stories and how they can hold us back
Under the guidance of our talented facilitator Dr Lalith Wijedoru, we will see theory put into practice with one or two volunteers sharing some of their true personal stories through different lenses in front of the other workshop participants. Even if you don’t share your own story, you will discover the power of listening to the stories of others. Under the guidance of our talented facilitator Dr. Lalith Wijedoru, we will rewrite the narratives that no longer serve us, releasing ourselves from the burden of being ‘victim’ or ‘hero’.
